The accusations by some Christians towards their reverend Baxton Maulidi that his unilateral decisions were hurting the Church are not strange at all.
Looking at the contradicting statements by the Session Clerk and Christians, one would conclude that all is not well in the Church.
What is clear in the whole dispute is what has been a problem in several churches where reverends and pastors personalise the operations of the Church other than perform the work of God.
It is everyone's expectation that churches should be more democratic while leaders chosen for various roles should be exemplary. It is common these days that only those who have money are preferred by Churches especially because they always assist financially.
Now we wonder, where is the place for poor Christians if the Church is not accommodative? Is there any difference between churches and political parties where disputes are the order of the day?
We hope reverends or pastors will realise what their role is otherwise their actions do not reflect well on the teachings that are supposed to be the foundation of the churches.
