Southern Region Football League Premier League side Chikhwawa United dented Blues Eagles' reputation  as cup kings with a 2-0 victory at Kalulu Stadium Saturday in the Presidential Cup.

Chikhwawa's victory has earned them a place in the paid up ranks of the competition with K250,000 awaiting the quarterfinalits.

As Eagles were seeing the blues at Kalulu Stadium, Red Lions mauled Civo United by 2 goals to nil.

Tigers' uncharacteristic start to the season continued with a 1-0 loss to Moyale in Mzuzu,

Blantyre United were also knocked out of the competition with a 1-0 defeat to Mafco.

Escom United recovered from their poor start to the season with a 2-0 win over Super League relegated side Embangweni.

Super League rookies Bvumbwe Research's sensational showing in the Presidential Cup continued in style Saturday

with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Epac United at BAT Ground.

The Super League rookies owed the victory to their two top strikers' Vincent Chinthenga and Mayeso Mphanje who scored two goals each to outclass the Ishmail Thindwa side.

Chinthenga, who has also scored seven goals in six Super League games, opened and closed the floodgates as

Mphande scored two goals between his striking partner's goals.

Coach Bob Mpinganjira saluted his charges for putting up a brilliant game.
