MALAWI National Council of Sports has summoned warring factions, the Malawi Boxing Association (Maba) and its affiliate National Professional Boxing Committee, to sort out the protracted wrangles involving the two.
The three par t ies a r e expected to meet at Sports Council offices in Blantyre on Sunday.
Sports Council sources said they have summoned the two to discuss the possible delinking of Maba and NPBC.
"However, I can't comment much because we need to get their independent views to reach at the bottom of the on-going wrangle," he said.
M a b a g e n e r a l secretary Arthur Nanthuru confirmed having received communication to attend the meeting.
"The entire executive will be present at the discussions," said the source.
S u s p e n d e d N P B C chairman Lonzoe Zimba expressed hope that all issues that have been haunting the two bodies will be resolved during the meeting.
"We hope the meeting will have several agendas so that we should tackle everything that is frustrating the development of the sport," he said.

loggerheads with its affiliate in recent weeks and the national b o x i n g b o d y e v e n t u a l l y suspended NPBC which seeks to be an independent body.
I n t e r e s t i n g l y Maba was under attack after committing a series of mistakes which cost the body a chance to send boxers for Olympic Games qualifying championship held in Algeria.
NPBC also asked Maba top brass to resign accusing the boxing mother body of failing to hold annual general meetings for the past three years and also failure to present audited accounts since 2005.
