Nigeria recall in-form Aluko for Flames battle

Nigeria has recalled high-flying Glasgow Rangers (Scottish side) winger Sone Aluko for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Malawi and Namibia.

According to http://www.tribune.com.ng Aluko was one of foreign based players to make it into the Stephen Keshi side.

Aluko has banged in 12 goals for Rangers including a hat-trick at the weekend.

The recall of the 23-year-old forward would give him a chance to add to his one cap against Republic of Ireland in May 2009 after he represented England at various age-group levels.

He also featured for the country at the 2009 Fifa U20 World Cup in Egypt.

Another player with a similar background winger Victor Moses of Wigan Athletic is also in line to add to his first cap against Rwanda in February, when he made his long-awaited debut for Super Eagles.

Other star players to make the squad include Chelsea star Mikel Obi, John Utaka and goalkeeper Austin Ejide have all been recalled by Keshi for a hectic month of qualifying action that would also include a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations return leg match against Rwanda.

Meanwhile, Flames coach Kinnah Phiri said his charges would prepare for teams and not individuals.

"We will not be intimidated by names. We are preparing to face teams. They might have quantity and quality but we will not be worried," he said.
